About Us > About the Owners
Cabin Fever Adventures is a family-based business that is more about providing its owners with
an outdoor life-style, and its clients with a first-rate wilderness
experience than it is about trying to make our riches. It is owned and
operated by Dustin and Brook Davis. We are a dynamic and adventurous
couple in our thirties. We have one son named Shale, 3 dogs, a cat and a cabin in the middle of the
woods. We choose to operate our company “off the grid”. We have to generate
our own electricity, have no running water and take our baths by a dip in the lake. We love
it! At times operating our base-camp at the end of a winding 12 km dirt road has its
challenges, but the peace and tranquility we experience at Cabin Lake
is worth the extra work.
Brook is a registered nurse with northern clinical training. She has
been responsible for the health of a remote community of 300 people
while she was nurse-in-charge in Old Crow, north of the Arctic Circle.
She is an instructor for Wilderness Medical Associates and enjoys teaching people how to take care of their medical needs and emergencies in remote wilderness situations.
Dustin is a certified teacher who has a strong love for educating, whether it is in or out of the classroom. He has worked extensively in the north with Canada’s First Nations, and has enjoyed guiding wilderness trips for the past 12 years. He is an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and is deeply satisfied by the jack-of-all-trades lifestyle that his Yukon small business owner life style provides. Currently we spend our winters in the community of Carcross in the southern Yukon, and summers at our base-camp on Cabin Lake.
If you want to know more you’ll need to come on a trip with us and we can share with you more stories of the Yukon's distinct lifestyle.
Hope to chat with you soon!
